Dr. Varghese Cherian is an experienced radiologist who pledges to provide unmatched patient care and support. He is a diplomate of the American Board of Radiology, and board-certified in Diagnostic Radiology.
Prior to joining NY Imaging Specialists, Dr. Cherian served as the Division Chief of Advanced Cardiac Imaging, and also Division Chief of Emergency Imaging, at Stony Brook Medicine Hospital. Additionally, Dr. Cherian also held appointments as Assistant Professor of Radiology and Assistant Professor of Emergency Medicine at Stony Brook Medicine Hospital. He was also an Assistant Professor of Radiology at New York University School of Medicine.
Dr. Cherian went to medical school at St. George’s University, where he was a member of the Iota Epsilon Alpha International Medical Honors Society. He completed his residency in Diagnostic Radiology at Lenox Hill Hospital. During his radiology residency, he was selected to receive the Roentgen Resident/Fellow Research Award. After his residency, Dr. Cherian went on to complete a fellowship in Advanced Cardiovascular Imaging at NYU Langone Medical Center.
Dr. Cherian has authored multiple publications and is also certified by the Board of Cardiovascular Computed Tomography.
